I just found out about one of the newest crazes...monthly subscription boxes...I can see that these could easily turn into an addiction.  I have been seeing a lot about them on the "beauty guru" channels on youtube so I thought I would try a couple.  I just signed up yesterday so I will not be getting the boxes until the new year and when they come I will be sure to do a review. 

The first subscription I signed up for is the Ipsy.com beauty bag, formally called the Glam Bag.  I have heard they have made some major improvements and people are extremely happy with the current bags.  Every month they send you a little makeup bag (always different) with 4 to 5 beauty products to try, some are sample size and some are full size.  Last month they included a Urban Decay eye pencil - full size, and a full size nail polish.  I LOVE Urban Decay.  Super excited to receive my first bag.  It is sent out the second week of the month.  I should receive it fairly quickly since the company is based in the Bay Area...yea...local...bummer...I have to pay tax.  $10/month.

The next subscription I signed up for is MyCottonBunny.com.  This is a monthly box that brings you a box of feminine protection, they have a number of choices, plus some comfort things to make your period more tolerable.  I ordered this one for my daughter.  I thought it my make a good subscription to carry on into college.  I like the idea anyway..we are always running to the store because we are NOT prepared so you know she will not be prepared in college.  This is a new subscription service.    The first month they sent a cami from American Apparel, some chocolate and one other small item.  I think she will be pleased.  That one is supposed to come the first week of the month.  It is also mailed from California.  This one is $13.75 a month.

My Book Club

Annual Book Club Dinner

Last night was our annual book club dinner.  Our book club has been together for over 15 years now and it is so much fun to get together and enjoy the upcoming holidays together.  In the beginning we would have the holiday book club meeting at a member's home, but we soon learned that the added stress of hosting another party during the holidays was too much.  Now we go to a restaurant and do a book exchange.  Out of those books we choose at least January's book.  This year we chose the first three books of the year.

I would have to say that this was one of our worst years for books.  There were not any horrible picks but there were not any outstanding ones either.

We had a great dinner at Cafe Cruz.  We ended up staying for over three hours.  I am so lucky to be a part of a great group of women.
